Words from the Manager...

'Ben and I run the pub, after Ben’s parents Kim and Simon stepped back in 2023.

 

Bens main role is brewing our very important and famous Spingo while of course joint managing the Blue Anchor and Out of the Blue. Ben loves surfing and spending time with Bernie, our dog. â€‹I came on board in 2022, just on the back of Covid. After being at my previous employment for around 15 years, I fancied a change, and with Kim and Simon offering a position to come on board to Bens family business, I jumped at the opportunity. ​

The Blue Anchor to me is such an important part of the town and means a lot to so many people. My dad, for instance, was born in Helston, has drank in the there for over 60 years, so for my life time there’s been many visits to Blue. Myself being a Helston Girl too, I needed to be a part of securing the future for generations to come. My spare time - which I don’t get much of! - is filled with horses, dogs and rugby. 

Kim and Simon have had the Blue Anchor for over 35 years, and have seen many locals and visitors alike. Whilst stepping back, they are still very much involved in the pub and its success. Kim has been running the online shop by herself since it opened, been to big events showcasing our ale, running Mill Lane Campsite, and the B&B.'
